Hardwood floor sandpaper

Hello, I’m Mike and I work for a sanding paper company named Aimchamp. Do you want to get your hardwood flooring all shiny again? So, if yes, then we have the product that will do that for you! As discussed below, refinishing the floors will make them look much better and protect them for years.

To start, you will require a type of sandpaper that is used for this process. Grit refers to the number of tiny little pieces on sandpaper that help scratch or smooth the surface of your hardwood floors. A high grit number (higher number = smaller pieces) produces a smoother finish. Picking the right grit is huge because using the wrong one will only make your floors worse.

Achieve a Smooth Surface with the Right Hardwood Floor Sandpaper

With wood floors, you’ll want to begin with a lower grit, like 60 or 80. This coarseness assists with taking off any bumps, scratches or blemishes that might have developed over the years. You want one flat surface smoothed out, then you can go to say 120 or 150 grit. So this higher grit will help you get a nice smooth and shiny finish as well.

A good tip to achieve that smooth surface is to always sand with the grain of the wood. It refers the natural pattern or lines on the wood surface. This can leave scratches and lead to a rougher, uneven surface if you sand into the grain. Keep in mind to move along the lines of the wood to get the best effects!
